What is a Dimensions Discovery Session?

Buying a curriculum is a big decision, and we know it’s not one you take lightly. With that in mind, we invite you to join us on a bespoke Discovery Session to understand how our global, outward-facing curriculum will work for you before you commit to joining our growing community of ‘Learning Means the World’ member schools.

So, what exactly is a Discovery Session, and how does it work? Read on to find out!

What do we mean by a Discovery Session?

When we invite you on a Discovery Session, you can expect to spend up to time with a member of the Dimensions team exploring how our ‘Learning Means the World’ Curriculum will fit in at your school.

The session will usually take place over Zoom, and either Elaine or Kathryn, our curriculum experts, will lead it.

At Dimensions HQ, Discovery Sessions are casually known as ‘Disco Sessions’, and we may or may not have flashing lights and a glitter ball in the office to accompany them ????

Why do we need one?

Choosing the best primary curriculum for your school is a delicate and detailed process. Therefore, we want you to make the right choice for your staff and pupils.

Sending out a free sample is like sending one piece of a 1000-piece jigsaw. It’s impossible for you to see – and understand – the bigger picture.

During the Discovery Session, we’ll show you resources and examples if they link to what we’re discussing and add detail to the concepts and themes you’re hearing about. This way, it’s far more beneficial to you than a sample would be as a standalone.

Your Discovery Session helps you, and, in turn, us determine what your current issues and unique pain points are. Then, we explore how our curriculum can meet (and usually, exceed!) your everyday needs and overcome any challenges you’re experiencing.

We optimise every minute of your Discovery Session to make the most of your time and help you make the right decision for your school.

What format does the session take?

As it’s shaped around your circumstances and needs, the format of your Discovery Session depends on you and what you want from your curriculum.

Generally, we’ll show you a short video giving an overview of our curriculum and how it changes hearts and minds. That’s what makes it different!

Next, we’ll detail how – and why – we created the curriculum. Together, we’ll examine how it will help you overcome existing challenges in your working life.

There’s always time to ask questions, view examples, and dive into the big ideas and different layers of progression to see how they resonate with you and your requirements.

What are the benefits of a Dimensions Discovery Session?

Ahead of your session, we’ll ask you about the issues you’re facing at the moment. This is to help us find out what you’re hoping to achieve, improve, and overcome by introducing a new curriculum.

By doing it this way, we eliminate any unnecessary information and make the most of your time by personalising the session so it addresses your individual circumstances and requirements.

Whether your issues are around content, coverage, assessment, progression, or even how to get buy-in from your team, your Discovery Session will leave you informed, confident and excited for what our curriculum can do for your school.

So, having a bespoke Discovery Session will:

  • Give you a tailor-made experience
  • Answer all your questions
  • Familiarise you with our team (and see our energy first-hand to give you confidence!)
  • Provide you the information you need to proceed
  • Save time trying to piece together the bigger picture by viewing samples

What happens afterwards?

Once you’ve had your Discovery Session with a member of the Dimensions team, what happens next is up to you.

You’ll receive a personalised proposal, with all the salient information you need, including pricing.

We’ll also provide you with contact details of other schools. Don’t simply take our word for it, speak to fellow heads and teachers to find out what their experience has been.

We’ll give you some time to digest the information. You have chance to send us any extra questions you have about ‘Learning Means the World’ and how it will work for you.

If you’re ready to go ahead, we can proceed and plan your mapping and training dates, ready to start implementing the curriculum in your setting.

Or, we can schedule an additional session. You can use this to help your staff understand how the curriculum will reignite their love of teaching and inspire pupils to achieve more, if you anticipate that’s the best way to move forward.

Ultimately, we’re here to help you understand how our curriculum can drive outstanding teaching and learning in your school.

We want to get to know you, your circumstances, and challenges, so we can customise the curriculum to help you proceed with confidence, excitement, and a renewed sense of purpose.
