‘Using Art to Improve Teacher Wellbeing’ Session
This fully guided painting session uses art to improve teacher wellbeing. It is designed for a whole school / staff participation and is tailored towards your school’s specific needs; either to support and promote mental health, to develop team collaboration or just to help bring the team together in a fun and purposeful way. The session enables participants to think beyond the stresses and strains of classroom workload and become both absorbed and focused on the creative task of painting their very own masterpiece, with the expert guidance of an experienced and talented artist educator. The initial reaction of most participants is ‘I can’t paint’ but, from experience, everyone leaves feeling empowered and relaxed, with a renewed sense of their own value, more open to new possibilities. Whilst all participants are guided to paint the same image, those who are feeling more confident are encouraged to go off-piste!
This is a 2 ½ – 3 hours session and all equipment is provided. Paintings are created with acrylic paint on canvas boards using easels and finished work could even be displayed in school on completion! You could even have a ‘Guess which member of staff painted this picture?’ interactive quiz for children.
