Save time planning dynamic cross-curricular topics and hunting down quality resources that give coverage of the Northern Ireland Curriculum. Fully resourced from P1 to P7, the breadth and depth of Dimensions Curriculum ensures whole-school cohesion and progression.
Dimensions Curriculum for Northern Ireland (NI) helps schools in NI develop a primary curriculum model that perfectly meets the needs of their pupils, but with enough flexibility for teachers to add a personal touch when planning outstanding lessons to inspire and engage pupils.
Our resources provide a framework to help you successfully plan and develop your primary curriculum; a curriculum that is both personalised and creative, designed to raise expectations and improve standards.
Our fully resourced Creative Curriculum covers the National Curriculum (NC) for NI. We’ve worked with senior school leaders and taken all NI curriculum documentation to create a cross-curricular, whole-school approach to curriculum design that means schools meet their statutory obligations to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum. Even better, in some areas Dimensions exceeds the requirements of the National Curriculum for Northern Ireland. Designed with children’s natural curiosity in mind, the breadth and depth of lessons cover objectives across many curriculum areas. We have taken our years of experience developing creative curriculum models to develop something truly unique for Northern Irish schools: a cohesive and creative curriculum that saves teachers time planning, engages children and ensures progression.
The Dimensions approach is based on investigation, observation and application. These three elements are embedded across the Dimensions Curriculum and provide practitioners with a clear structure to help with creative curriculum planning. Maths and English would continue to be taught discretely by teachers, with lots of opportunities and ideas for literacy and using maths linked in with our dynamic Thematic Units.
Spanning P1 through to P7, our resources are underpinned by the Dimensions Northern Ireland Skills Ladder – a learning framework that ensures step-by-step continuity and progression. Everything you need to plan, organise and assess your own innovative programme of study can be found in Dimensions, aligned to the National Curriculum for NI.
Established in 2009, Dimensions has been providing quality resources through a creative approach to cover the National Curriculum. Not just for English schools, but for schools in countries around the world! A request for a Dimensions Curriculum for Northern Ireland came in from a school in County Londonderry last year and here we are with Key Stage 1 completed! Foundation Stage and Key Stage 2 are well on the way.
Key Stage 1 is a complete scheme of work, delivered through a choice of 15 Thematic Units, tailored to learning objectives, skills and concepts required for P3/4. Northern Irish schools can buy one of three standalone units to try for P3/4 (£95 each), or cohesive coverage for the whole Key Stage One (£1,500).
We also have a cluster of eight schools in the Londonderry/Antrim areas that have happily adapted the English model and have been using it since 2016. This is a hybrid of the P3/4 units and the existing Dimensions Curriculum. Schools can take advantage of this development phase and buy the Dimensions Curriculum as it stands now with P3/4 fully adapted for NI, at a lower price than the final version of the complete Dimensions Curriculum for NI. Rest-assured that you will receive Foundation Stage and Key Stage 2 NI Thematic Units as and when they are published. Investing in the hybrid model gives excellent value for money.
