We had been working on curriculum development, providing consultancy and training to individual schools local to our base in NW England for over three years, when we began to realise that we had developed some very effective processes and principles that could be applied in any school anywhere. It was actually a colleague who suggested we package the ideas up, not to sell as ‘creativity off the shelf’ but to provide schools with the tools and resources to inspire excellent teaching and memorable learning. That’s how the Dimensions Skills Ladder and Dimensions Curriculum Design Toolkit came to be made available in their current formats.

An increasing number of schools, both nationally and internationally, are now using Dimensions resources to support and develop their own curriculum programmes. Their successes are clear to see with improved SATs results and glowing Ofsted curriculum reports. Even more importantly, schools are telling us how behaviour has improved, poor attendance is no longer an issue and children are developing a genuine love of learning. Writing in particular is often mentioned when schools review their progress with us.
Every Dimensions school’s curriculum is different but, using the same consistent approach, everyone has ownership as well as a deep-rooted belief in the value of what they are doing.
Our client base is continuing grow, in spite of the launch of the curriculum review. Instead of waiting passively to be told what to do, schools, more than ever, want to shape the future of learning to meet the needs of their pupils.

Our resource series, Bubbles Education, has been recently developed to help put the features of creative learning at the heart of the curriculum. So, what does future developments are planned?
- Well, we are about to make our Dimensions resources available online to new customers, as well as still offering hard copies of all purchased materials.
- We will, of course, be updating our curriculum model when the future is clear in terms of government response to the ongoing curriculum review.
- Other products we've been piloting and are about to launch include our new Dimensions Teacher Tools series as well as our Decisive Behaviour Programme.
