Overview

Dimensions Creative Curriculum nominated for two ERAs for PSHE lessons ‘3D PSHE’ is our Cohesive, Creative PSHE Programme!

Nominated for an ER Award in two categories, 3D PSHE is an easy to use, ‘pick up and teach’ scheme of work with resources that guarantee great PSHE lessons.

The full programme covers Nursery through to Upper KS2 and each phase includes all the lesson plans and resources teachers need. There is also a KS3 programme, click here for more details.

“Extremely well priced. Saves teachers time trying to find resources (time being something you can’t put a price on) and has clear learning objectives ensuring good coverage of all the different areas.”
Blackshaw Primary School, Bolton

PSHE primary nursery3D PSHE develops fully-rounded children who are healthy, sociable and emotionally literate. It covers key concepts and skills to help you fulfil your statutory responsibility to support pupils’ SMSC (moral, social and cultural) education, focusing on Health and Wellbeing, Relationships and Living in the Wider World. Naturally, British Values are at the heart of 3D PSHE and we have also crafted age-appropriate resources to support schools who wish to discuss Extremism and Radicalisation with pupils.

3D PSHE prepares children for life in modern Britain today.  It also helps pupils develop and apply skills and attitudes to allow them to become full and active citizens in our wider global community.

PSHE Overviews

In our KS1 and KS2 Programmes we do not split the lessons into year group. This is because we are passionate about joined-up learning and making cross-curricular links. Therefore, we leave our programmes flexible, so teachers can choose the best time to teach our PSHE lessons, in order to weave them into the rest of the curriculum being taught. However, we have written suggested overviews, which schools can use if they find them helpful.

Year 1                                                                                   Year 4

Year 2                                                                                   Year 5

Year 3                                                                                   Year 6

KS1 & 2 Extremism & Radicalisation

3D PSHE EXTREMISM AND RADICALISATION

In line with the Prevent Strategy, we have produced units of work for both KS1 and KS2 to enable primary schools to teach about Extremism and Radicalisation.

Extremism and radicalisation is a difficult area to tackle with children. In fact, should we really be tackling it at all? Well, the feedback we’ve had from teachers is that many pupils are coming into school, having seen the terrorist attacks on the news, with questions. Big questions. The problem is that staff aren’t trained to deal with these issues and don’t feel equipped to explain simply enough to their pupils what is going on. Well relax, we’ve created two great resources to deal with this difficult area.

Key Stage 1 KS1 E&R Front cover

Following the success and rave reviews of our 3D PSHE KS2 Extremism and Radicalisation Unit, we have created a similar resource aimed at KS1 pupils. Suitable for using in class or as an assembly resource. 3D PSHE KS1 Extremism and Radicalisation begins by focusing on the concept of fact and opinion, moving on to the idea of right and wrong, in three fully planned and resourced sessions.

Redfern Image ‘The Story of Redfern Right’ provides an age-appropriate, engaging way to explain how a minority of people who have strong opinions and beliefs think they are right and everyone else is wrong. Using animation and repetitive language, pupils are easily able to access the meaning behind the story. Teachers can then link this to their own context, going into as much or as little detail about extremism, radicalisation and terrorism as they deem appropriate for their pupils.

The final part of the resource focuses on celebrating difference, with a funky, fresh, up-beat song setting the tone. ‘The Boring Song’ (ironically titled) explains why it is good to be different and that there’s nothing wrong with not being the same as other people, whether that is in how we look, what we like or what we believe. Complete with both karaoke and vocal tracks, sheet music and on-screen lyrics, you’ll be humming this tune all day!

Song Sample

The unit comes complete with a CD-ROM, with three fully-resourced session plans, innovative animation and song.

Key Stage 2E&R PSHE-Front cover only

Our popular KS2 resource is a standalone unit, allowing schools to decide which year group to use it with. We would especially recommend its use with Upper Key Stage 2 pupils. This unit deals with this difficult topic in an effective and yet sensitive way. The unit comes complete with a CD-ROM, with five fully-resourced lesson plans, innovative animation and a stimulating paperback story book.

Best Practice in West and North Yorkshire

We were delighted to hear that this unit was hailed as ‘best practice’ in a North Yorkshire  PSHE Network in Harrogate. Perhaps they heard about us from their geographical colleagues from the City of Leeds who invested in one unit for every Primary School in their area.

It’s always lovely to hear that we’re supporting schools and saving teachers time delivering outstanding, engaging and fun lessons.

Prices

Key Stage 1 is being launched at just £17.95 (ex VAT and P&P)

Key Stage 2 is just £35 (ex VAT and P&P)

You can also buy both KS1 and KS2 Extremism and Radicalisation as a bundle for just £47.95 (ex VAT and P&P) which gives you a saving of £5.

Relationships & Sex Education

3D PSHE RELATIONSHIPS AND SEX EDUCATION RESOURCERSE

This unit of KS2 Relationships and Sex and lessons and resources enables schools to teach about Relationships and Sex Education (RSE).

The lessons deal with healthy relationships, everything to do with puberty, sexual orientation and development, as well as trans-gender issues.

“The KS2 additional PSHE Units [‘Relationships and Sex’ and ‘Extremism and Radicalisation’] handle sensitive topics in a very relevant and age-appropriate way. Teachers value having a guide to using the correct language and terminology as appropriate to this age group”.
Headteacher, Bolton Primary School

This is a standalone unit, allowing schools to decide which year group to use it with. We would especially recommend its use with Upper Key Stage 2 pupils.

Substance-Related Abuse

3D PSHE Substance-Related Abuse

SRA PSHE KS2 Primary This UKS2 Substance-Related Abuse unit enables schools to teach pupils about the dangers of
drug and substance abuse, in more depth.

The unit comes on a CD-ROM, complete with five fully-planned and resourced lessons. The unit covers:-

  • making healthy choices;
  • risks and consequences;
  • what it means to live with an addiction;
  • drug and substance education;
  • how advertising influences the choices we make.

Also included with this unit is an animation, which features an interview with Lisa, an ex-drug addict, talking about what life was like living with her addiction.

It is a standalone unit, allowing schools to decide which year group to use it with. However, we would recommend its use with Year 6 pupils.

Comment from Ofsted March 2016, Waterloo Primary School, Ashton-Under-Lyne

"The school's curriculum ensures a strong focus on developing the basic skills of reading, writing and mathematics. Pupils' knowledge and skills in other subjects, such as science, geography, history and art are developed through a range of cross-curricular topics and themes, which are planned to capture and motivate their interest and develop a love of learning. Pupils' positive views about their work reflect that this is successful."
